You deserve a space to breathe, tune into your emotions and have your story heard.
"Hello! Thank you for visiting my website. My name is Naomi, and I am a Creative Arts Psychotherapist dedicated to supporting individuals through a holistic and creative approach to mental health. I am registered with the HCPC and the British Association of Dramatherapists and hold a Postgraduate Diploma in the Therapeutic Application of the Arts in Therapy and Education, and an MA in Drama and Movement Therapy.
My professional journey has led me to work in a variety of settings, including the NHS’s CAMHS trauma team, outpatient eating disorder clinics, schools, and adult mental health services. My passion for supporting women and members of the queer community is driven by my own life experiences and the stories of the people I’ve had the privilege to work with.
Before becoming a therapist, I had a vibrant career as a musician, actor and dancer. I had a strong desire to use creativity in therapeutic settings which led me to volunteer in various sectors before formally training as a therapist. This creative foundation allows me to bring a unique perspective to the therapeutic process, integrating movement, music, and drama into my sessions.
I am committed to continued professional growth and engage in regular supervision and ongoing training. I am currently expanding my expertise through further studies in embodied psychotherapy and somatics. I hold an enhanced DBS and am fully insured.
If you’re looking for a compassionate, creative, and holistic therapist, I’m here to support you on your journey to wellness."
Naomi is a Creative Arts therapist who works with women and members of the queer community. Her practice is called Red Thread Therapy because the Red thread is a symbol around the world that represents connection and the ability to follow intuition; two things that therapy aims to cultivate. For too long women and queer people have systematically had their voices, health issues, trauma, and experiences minimised and denied, Red Thread's mission is to change this and to offer targeted spaces for sharing and healing. Naomi provides spaces for stories to be witnessed and validated, for grieving and processing, and for you to connect with your authentic feelings and desires to support you in creating the life you want.
Therapy is a weekly space to slow down and connect with your emotions and your body. You may be craving an opportunity to share about grief and experiences with somebody who will listen or you may wish to develop a deeper understanding of yourself and your habits and want to unravel the drives behind them to support you in changing your life. Through creative arts therapy, we can use creative activities (art-making, drama, writing, and movement) alongside verbal reflection which can help to unpick blocks, invite experimentation and help the formation of self-compassion and acceptance.
Some of the themes I work with include women’s health (including PCOS, endometriosis, PMDD and fertility), complex trauma, grief, body image, disordered eating, the experience of being a new mother, LGBTQIA+ issues, sexuality exploration and creative blocks.
The pace and content of your therapy is directed by you and your needs. We will take time to build a relationship and discover the best ways to approach your feelings and challenge you. We can begin either with a free introductory call where you can get a sense of my personality and ask any questions, or you can book an initial assessment session.
